Bernadette and Jen

Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette lazzara on 28 February 1948) is an American actor, singer, and children's book author from Ozone Park Queens New York . She has had a long career that spans 5 decades. She has performed in concerts, recorded solo albums and appeared on television. She is one of the most critically acclaimed Broadway performers, having received nominations in seven Tony Awards, winning two and eight Drama Desk Awards winning three. Peters has been awarded Grammy Awards for four of her Broadway album cast. Peters began her stage career as a youngster, later as a teenager in the 1960s. Later in the 70s, she started acting in movies and TV. This early work, her roles as a character on The Muppet Show The Carol Burnett Show in addition to different television productions and characters in films like Silent Movie The Jerk Pennies from Heaven was highly praised. The 1980s saw her return to the stage saw her become one of Broadway's best known stars for over three decades. She has also released six solo albums and several singles, as well as numerous cast albums. She also is a regular performer in her solo concert act. Peters is still working in film and television, where she was nominated three occasions to win Emmy Awards. She has also won one Golden Globe Award.
